At Big Orange Water Sports Club, we don’t just put you on a board.
We guide you through a structured progression system designed
for safety, skill development, and long-term mastery.
Every rider advances through clearly defined levels
based on demonstrated ability — not just attendance.
Instructor approval is required for every level advancement.
Volunteer board time cannot be used to complete level requirements.
Skill earns progression.
🟡 Trainee (Foundation Level)
Your first step into controlled flight.
Requirements:
• Minimum 3 Private Appointments (paid sessions)
• Demonstrate:
– Controlled lift
– Stable 100m ride
– Safe fall & recovery
– Basic turning
• Instructor Approval Required
Trainees may participate in the Volunteer Credit Program.
1 hour volunteer = 15 minutes board time.
Monthly cap: 2 free hours.

🟠 Team Orange (Core Rider)
You now ride with control and awareness.
Requirements:
• 7+ Team Classes (paid sessions)
• Demonstrate:
– Controlled carving
– Speed awareness
– Riding in proximity
– Energy management
• Instructor Approval Required
Volunteer credit exchange improves:
1 hour volunteer = 30 minutes board time
Monthly cap: 2 free hours.

🍈 Team Pomelo (Advanced Rider)
You ride with skill, discipline, and team awareness.
Requirements:
• 20+ Team Courses (paid sessions)
• Participation in Team Touring Courses
• Demonstrate advanced control and group discipline
• Instructor Approval Required
Volunteer credit:
1 hour volunteer = 45 minutes board time
Monthly cap: 2 free hours.

🥭 Team Durian (Elite Touring & Leadership)
Durian riders represent the highest standard of skill and responsibility.
• Completion of Route Surveyor Program
• Leadership participation
• Safety Officer training (recommended)
• Instructor Approval Required
Durian is not just skill — it is responsibility.
Durian riders help protect the culture, safety, and integrity of Big Orange.
Volunteer Credit Program (Pilot Phase)
To build community and responsibility, members may exchange approved volunteer hours for board time.
Rules:
• Maximum 2 free board hours per member per month
• Credits do not roll over
• Volunteer tasks must be pre-approved
• Board time must be scheduled during non-peak hours
• Volunteer board time cannot count toward level progression
• Instructor Approval Required for all bookings
This program is currently under a 3-month evaluation period.
Rider Consultation
Every new member begins with a structured consultation.
We assess:
• Physical readiness
• Swimming confidence
• Short-term goals
• Long-term commitment
This ensures safety, proper training pace, and the right path forward.
We are not a thrill rental operation.
We are a progression-based eFoil academy.
