eFoil Brands Intro: JetWave

JetWave is not the loudest name in the eFoil world. It is not built on hype or heavy marketing.

But in clubs, schools, and real beginner environments, JetWave has become a serious and practical choice — especially where stability, safety, and progression matter more than image.

JetWave’s Overall Position in the eFoil Market

JetWave’s product strategy is easy to read once you look at the lineup:

  • High-volume inflatable boards for beginners

  • Jet propulsion for safer learning

  • Club-ready bundles

  • A newer carbon series for progression riders

In the USA market, JetWave clearly targets:

  • Clubs and rental fleets

  • First-time riders

  • Heavier riders who need volume

  • Riders progressing from inflatable to carbon boards

This is not a luxury-first brand.It is a use-case-first brand.

JetWave Air 230: The Foundation of the Brand

According to JetWave’s official USA dealer price list (2026), the Air 230 Club Set is defined as follows:

JetWave Air 230 – Club Set

  • Volume: 230 L

  • Dimensions: 200 × 85 × 15 cm

  • Board weight: 14 kg

  • Construction: Double-layer high-strength PVC (inflatable)

  • Power module: 60A, 60 cm mast

  • Battery: 2.4 kWh Endurance Battery

  • Wing set: Cruiser Wing

230 liters of volume is extremely large in eFoil terms. That volume allows the board to float a heavy rider at zero speed, before foil lift even begins.

Personal Experience: Learning on JetWave in the Ocean

My own eFoil journey started in the sea.

I learned eFoiling at my best friend’s club in Tufu Bay, on Hainan Island, facing the South China Sea.

The board used was the JetWave Air 230.

At that time:

  • My weight was 190–200 lbs

  • Water conditions were wavy, not flat

  • Chop and timing errors were constant

Despite this, the Air 230 allowed me to:

  • Launch directly from a standing position

  • Stay balanced before applying throttle

  • Focus on control instead of simply surviving

This is difficult to achieve on smaller boards, especially in the ocean.

Why Size and Volume Matter for Beginners

With 230 L of volume:

  • The deck stays level at zero speed

  • Beginners do not need to kneel

  • Heavier riders remain fully supported

For beginners, especially in waves, volume equals time:time to balance, time to react, and time to learn.

Inflatable Rails: A Real Safety Benefit

The Air 230 uses inflatable rails, not rigid carbon edges.

From real use:

  • I fell dozens of times per day

  • Often in awkward positions

The inflatable edge:

  • Absorbs impact

  • Reduces bruises

  • Lowers injury risk

For beginners and clubs, this directly affects confidence and safety.

Jet Propulsion: Chosen for Learning Environments

JetWave uses jet propulsion instead of an exposed propeller.

This design:

  • Reduces cut risk

  • Works well around beginners

  • Is easier to manage in group training

Jet propulsion is not about top speed. It is about controlled learning, which fits JetWave’s core users.

A Known Limitation: Bluetooth Signal and Water

Nothing is flawless.

On the Air 230, the Bluetooth module for the remote is located inside the battery (cell) compartment.

If water accumulates inside that compartment:

  • Bluetooth signal strength can drop

  • Remote response may feel delayed

This is not a software issue. It is a physical limitation — water blocks Bluetooth signals.

The Fix

  • Turn the board on its side

  • Drain the water

  • Resume riding

Once drained, the signal returns to normal. This is simple to manage once riders are taught.

JetWave’s Background and People

JetWave’s founder is from the Netherlands. We do not assume a professional background, but JetWave’s product direction shows a clear focus on practical use, safety, and stability.

JetWave’s growth in Asia and Australia has been supported by Mr. Guo, who oversees those regions and has helped many riders during their first eFoil experiences, including my own.

The New JetWave Carbon Boards: 55 & 75

JetWave is no longer only an inflatable-board brand.

According to the JetWave USA 2026 dealer list, JetWave now offers a full Carbon Series:

Carbon 55

  • Volume: 55 L

  • Weight: 6.8 kg

  • Dimensions: 138 × 54 × 12 cm

  • Construction: HTCM carbon fiber

Carbon 75

  • Volume: 75 L

  • Weight: 9 kg

  • Dimensions: 150 × 61 × 15 cm

  • Construction: HTCM carbon fiber

These boards are available in Performance and Sport sets, depending on mast and wing choice.

Carbon 55 vs Carbon 75: Use-Case Reality

Carbon 55

  • Best for light, advanced riders

  • Surf-style and high-performance use

  • Not suitable for beginners

Carbon 75

  • Ideal transition board after Air series

  • Works for intermediate riders

  • More forgiving while still fully carbon

For many riders, Carbon 75 is the most realistic progression board in JetWave’s lineup.

Market Reality: Why Supply Is Tight

Based on dealer allocation:

  • European and Australian markets are extremely active

  • Carbon boards are prioritized to high-volume regions

  • Demand currently exceeds supply

As a result, new dealers may face limited availability — not due to product issues, but because carbon demand is strong worldwide.

JetWave’s Two-Path Strategy

JetWave now clearly operates two parallel product paths:

Air Series

  • Learning

  • Safety

  • Clubs

  • Beginners

Carbon Series

  • Performance

  • Progression

  • Experienced riders

Together, this forms a complete ecosystem, from first ride to advanced riding.

JetWave in One Sentence

JetWave builds stable, safety-focused beginner boards and serious carbon progression boards, creating a clear path from first flight to long-term riding.
