🍊 Campus eFoil Team Manager Recruitment

Updated: Apr 20

Where Curiosity Meets the Water

University life is a time for exploration.

Students discover new ideas, meet new people, and experience the outdoors in ways that often shape their lifelong interests.

Across North Carolina and the broader Mid-South region, many universities sit within driving distance of beautiful lakes and waterways. These lakes offer an ideal environment for a new generation of outdoor enthusiasts to discover electric hydrofoiling.

Campus Explorers is Big Orange’s initiative to connect with university outdoor communities and invite students to experience this new sport together.

For many students, it begins with curiosity.

What does it feel like to glide above the water?

A New Outdoor Experience

Many students already enjoy outdoor activities such as kayaking, paddleboarding, hiking, or sailing.

Electric hydrofoiling introduces a different kind of experience — the feeling of quietly gliding above the water with smooth, controlled motion.

First-time riders usually begin with simple balance exercises and basic board control. With patient guidance and calm water conditions, beginners gradually learn how to stand, ride, and eventually lift above the water.

The moment of first flight is something most riders never forget.

For many students, a ride on the lake becomes a memorable break from academic routines — a chance to reconnect with nature and experience something entirely new.

From Campus to the Lake

Campus Explorers sessions often welcome small groups from university outdoor clubs and student organizations.

These gatherings create opportunities for students to:

• experience eFoiling for the first time• learn safe riding techniques• explore nearby lakes together• connect with other outdoor-minded riders

Some students join for a single ride.

Others return to continue learning and eventually become part of the broader Big Orange riding community.

Exploration often begins with curiosity.

The 30 Campus Foil Network

Building the Next Generation of Riders

Electric hydrofoiling is still a young sport. That means something exciting: many universities have never seen it before.

The first students who introduce it on campus will help shape how the sport grows for years to come.

To support this idea, Big Orange is launching the 30 Campus Foil Network — an initiative to help university students build small, friendly eFoil communities on their campuses.

As part of this effort, Big Orange is recruiting Campus eFoil Team Managers.

These students act as the bridge between campus communities and the Big Orange riding network, helping fellow students discover the experience of gliding above the water.

You do not need to be an expert rider.

Curiosity, responsibility, and enthusiasm are far more important.

What a Campus Team Manager Does

Campus managers help introduce electric hydrofoiling to their university community and coordinate with Big Orange.

Typical activities include:

• sharing information about eFoiling with fellow students

• organizing small campus information sessions or meetups

• helping students schedule First Ride Experiences with Big Orange

• connecting interested riders with training sessions and club activities

• building a small and friendly campus rider network

In simple terms, the Campus Manager becomes the starting point of eFoiling on their campus.

The Vision: 30 Campus Teams

Big Orange aims to gradually build a network of 30 university eFoil teams across the region.

Each campus team can become a gateway for students interested in watersports, outdoor exploration, and emerging technology.

Over time, the network could support:

• inter-campus riding meetups

• shared exploration trips

• student media collaborations

• new leadership opportunities within the eFoil community

Every campus team begins the same way:

one curious student deciding to start something new.

Campus Founder Incentive

To support students who successfully build a team, Big Orange offers a Campus Founder Incentive Program.

If a Campus Manager successfully recruits enough student members and registers an official eFoil club through their university within 60 days, they may receive special recognition and rewards.

Qualification Requirements

To qualify for the incentive:

• recruit the minimum number of students required to register a university club

• complete the official registration through the university recreation or student organization department

• register under a name such as Big Orange eFoil Club or Big Orange Hydrofoil Team

• complete the registration within 60 days after becoming a Campus Manager

Recognition and Rewards

Students who successfully establish a campus team may receive:

Free Big Orange Annual Membership (1 year)

• training or session credits

• invitations to exploration rides and club events

• recognition as a Founding Campus Manager on the Big Orange website

These rewards celebrate the effort required to build a new riding community from the ground up.

Who We’re Looking For

We welcome students who are:

• currently enrolled at a university or college

• interested in watersports, outdoor recreation, or emerging technology

• responsible and comfortable connecting people

• excited to introduce something new to their campus

Previous hydrofoil experience is not required.

Many great community leaders simply start with curiosity.

Your email should include:

The Beginning of a Community

Many sports communities begin quietly.

One student.A few friends. One nearby lake.

From there, something much larger can grow.

The 30 Campus Foil Network begins with people who are willing to introduce a new experience to their campus.

If that sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you.
