Equal at the Table. Free on the Water.

Member Voice, Shared Direction
At Big Orange, the club is not only guided by staff or instructors. It is also shaped by the ideas and experiences of its members.
The 🍊 Big Orange Council is a roundtable group designed to keep the club member-centered, thoughtful, and balanced as it grows. It provides a place where founders, members, and staff can exchange ideas and help guide the long-term direction of the community.
The spirit behind the council is simple:
Equal at the Table. Free on the Water.
Council Composition and Structure
During the early stage of the club, the council is intentionally small and balanced to encourage productive discussion.
The initial council structure includes:
1️⃣ Initial Founder (1 seat)The Initial Founder helps organize the council and provides long-term vision for the club.
2️⃣ Founding Members (1–3 seats)Early supporters who helped establish Big Orange. They contribute experience, resources, and ideas for the club’s development.
3️⃣ Member Representatives (1–3 seats)Regular club members who represent the perspectives of the riding community.
4️⃣ Club Staff (up to 3 seats)Staff members involved in operations, safety, and activities who can provide insight from day-to-day club operations.
This structure typically creates a small council of about 6–10 participants, which works well for effective roundtable discussions.
As the club grows, the council may gradually expand to include:
• up to 9 Founding Members
• 5 Member Representatives
• 3 Staff Participants
The Initial Founder may hold three council voting tickets, helping maintain stability while ensuring balanced participation from members and staff.
Core Responsibilities of the Council
The Big Orange Council focuses on three key areas that support the long-term development of the club.
1️⃣ Formulation and Supervision of Safe Operation Standards
Safety is the foundation of all Big Orange activities. The council helps establish and review the club’s safety culture and operational standards, including:
• riding safety guidelines
• training progression standards
• equipment and operational practices
• risk awareness for club activities
The goal is to ensure that Big Orange maintains a consistent and responsible safety culture as the club grows.
2️⃣ Organization and Expansion of the Club
The council also supports the development and growth of the Big Orange community.
This may include discussions about:
• the team system (Trainee → Team Orange → Team Pomelo → Team Durian)
• membership programs
• community activities and group rides
• partnerships and regional exploration projects
The goal is to help the club grow steadily and sustainably, while maintaining its welcoming culture.
3️⃣ Fundraising and Supervision of Major Brand Activities
As Big Orange develops larger projects and initiatives, the council may help support fundraising efforts and oversight of major brand activities.
These may include:
• exploration projects such as the Mid-South 100 Waters Project
• sponsorship collaboration with outdoor and technology brands
• special community events
• media and storytelling initiatives about electric watersports
The council helps ensure that these activities align with the values and long-term vision of Big Orange.
A Club Built Around the Table
The Big Orange Council reflects a simple belief:
Strong communities are built through shared responsibility and open conversation.
By bringing together founders, members, and staff, the council helps ensure that Big Orange continues to grow in a way that respects both the water and the people who ride it.
Because the best communities are not built by one person alone.
They are built together — around the table and on the water.
